Right from day one of teaching myself to crochet, I found written patterns to be the easiest to follow for me, as opposed to video tutorials. Unfortunately, finding a well written pattern can be difficult as many exclude or forget important information such as stitch counts. To be fair, writing patterns can be very difficult and requires a lot of attention to detail.
Over time and with experience I learned to fill in the gaps that some written patterns left, and also implemented some techniques that can be used universally to improve the quality of a finished piece, even if the pattern did not call for them.
Once I have time to sit down and write them out, I will share variations of patterns and techniques that I’ve tried over the years, as well as a few that I’ve developed on my own through trial and error.
